A combination of stunning coastal scenery, untamed natural rivers, abundant rainforests, mountains & glaciers is enough to have a perfect honeymoon with your partner. TranzAlpine train journey, Scenic road trip through the coastal area, Punakaiki pancake rocks & Blowholes, Alpine road trip back to Christchurch are the main attractions of this package. You will be thrilled to see cheeky Kea birds at Otira Viaduct lookout on your way back to Christchurch. Have a look at the itinerary to know more about this package.
We will pick you up from your accommodation hotel in Christchurch and drop you at the railway station. You will be travelling to West Coast on the world-renowned TranzAlpine train which is one of the best railway journeys in the world. Train tickets are included in the package. You will feel like passing through different seasons as the train takes you from plains to desert to evergreen to tropical and marshland, and it is totally astounding. Once the train reaches Greymouth, we will pick you from there and you travel to Punakaiki by road. This coastal journey is really incredible and there will be several picture-taking opportunities in between. Rest of the day, you can enjoy the township yourself. Check the timing for High tides at Punakaiki. We recommend visiting the blowholes and pancake rocks at the time of high tide. Accommodation will be at Punakaiki Resort or similar.
If you miss the Pancake rocks on the first day, you can visit them in the morning. If you have already done that, you can explore the Pororari River. You definitely gonna enjoy the vibes the river offers. Mid-afternoon, you will travel back to Christchurch. Way back by a road trip is amazing. You will be traveling through one of the best alpine roads in the country. Otira Viaduct Lookout is one of the best attractions on your way back. You can enjoy the magnificent view of the Arthurs Pass Bridge and if you are lucky enough you get to see some gorgeous kea. We will drop you back in Christchurch by evening.
