Itinerary Glimpse: With this 3-day honeymoon tour, you can explore some of the best tourist destinations around Christchurch. You get to check out the Aoraki/ Mount Cook area along with Queenstown and Franz Josef Glacier.
Included in the tour, you get two nights at 4 or 4.5-star accommodations. You can spend one night in Queenstown and the other night in Franz Josef.
Further, you even get the TranzAlpine Train tickets from Greymouth to Christchurch within the above cost.
You will begin your honeymoon journey early in the morning, through a beautiful road trip, across Canterbury Plains crossing the MacKenzie district & the breathtaking Lake Tekapo.
Finally, when you arrive at the Mt. Cook National Park around the afternoon, go for a scenic flight over to witness the most radiant sunrise amidst the finest alpine scenery. This is the perfect spot for capturing beautiful honeymoon pictures.
Leave the Mt. Cook region around mid-afternoon after lunch and head toward Queenstown. Although it is full of adventure activities, you can have several intimate experiences here, such as the spa at Onsen Pools or a candlelight dinner at the Gibbston Valley™ Winery & Restaurant.
En route, you will also get a glimpse of Lake Dunstan, Cromwell, Linda’s Pass, and the Kawarau Gorge.
Note: Evening Accommodation will be provided in Millennium Hotel Queenstown or equivalent.
After spending a wonderful night at Queenstown, head along Lake Wanaka and Lake Hawea shores towards the Haast Pass. The region is full of national parks, such as the World Heritage Westland National Park for couple of strolls. Also, the confluence of the two lakes is breathtaking, with glistening turquoise water amidst towering mountain cliffs.
As you continue along the West Coast, you will arrive at the Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers, your final destination for the day.
The 11 km Franz Josef Glacier is perfect for a snowy day out, skiing, or a scenic chopper flight. Witness the natural miracle of ‘the river of ice’ at this 7,000 years old glacier.
Note: Evening Accommodation will be provided in Scenic Circle Franz Josef Hotel or equivalent.
As your short vacation comes to an end, on day 3 you head back to Christchurch. On your way, you will encounter Greymouth. It is the site of the Goldrush era from the 1860s. You can take a mine tour here or listen to fantastic folklore.
You might even check out the cave tours for glittering glowworms, or go cycling along the wilderness trail, or even ride a quad bike at the Bush & Bog Track.
After spending half a day at Greymouth head over to the Southern Alps, via Arthurs Pass to catch the TranzAlpine train back to Christchurch.
The tour includes airport or accommodation transfer in Christchurch.
